2020++ BRANDING
The branding identity centered around three core values: dreaming big, creativity, and friendliness. With the event existing exclusively online, the choice of colours and typeface had to be designed with accessibility in mind.
Castledown was chosen as the typeface for its unique origin. It is a typeface designed to help individuals who have dyslexia read with more ease. For example, it features good ascenders and descenders for, b, d, f, h, k, l, t, and all capitals; g, j, p, q, y.
The sponsorship package plays an essential role in the outcome of how much funding Hack the North receives—Funding is crucial to our student-run organization and fund every aspect of the event such as: hacker meals, venue rentals, hacker swag bags, and much more.
SPONSORSHIP PACKAGE
The hacker swag bag is designed for all attendees and sponsors who attend the event. The goal of the bag is to encapsulate the year’s exclusive branding on items such as enamel pins, posters, vinyl stickers, t-shirts, and reusable facemasks. The following items used illustration assets created by Annie Xu, Karen Lee, and myself. I took the lead in designing the swag items and oversaw the production of the merchandise.
